Box to Row Blitz with Donal Ware on Barber Shop Sports

Donal Ware, a native of Silver Spring, MD is known as "The Voice of Black College Sports. His broadcast career has now spanned 15 years.  He is the host of the nationally syndicated FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW which airs on radio stations around the country and on SiriusXM Channel 141.

Radio has always been Ware's love. Ware started out as an analyst during Morgan State football and basketball games in 1997. In 1998, Ware became the halftime host, under the tutalege of Morgan State legendary broadcaster Lamont Germany, during the football broadcasts, giving updates on scores from around the country, analysis of the game, and putting together student-athlete halftime features. After a year and a half hiatus from radio, Ware began doing play-by-play and color commentary for North Carolina A&T basketball games.

In 2004, Ware formed the Shaw Bear Sports Radio Network, a network of 11 stations which aired all of Shaw University's football games. He also served as the play-by-play voice of the network until 2007. In 2005, Ware formed his own company, DWCommunications. That same year he served as the play-by-play voice for the Aggie-Eagle Classic, after serving as the color analyst the previous year.

Known in some circles as the John Madden of Black college football for his voice work in the Black college video game BCFx, during the 2007 CIAA Tournament Ware received the honor of being named CIAA Broadcaster of the Year, as voted on by the CIAA Sports Information Directors Association.

Ware has interviewed the likes of Serena Williams, Jim Brown, Tony Dungy, Demarcus Ware, and Common, Melanie Fionna just to name a few.

In 2007, the Morgan State University graduate served as the play-by-play voice for North Carolina Central football games. He currently handles play-by-play duties for Classics Sports Radio Network.
